Here's a recipe for a lovely weekend: Go to the Nelson on Saturday, when admission is free. Lose yourself in the Asian collection, which is one of the best in the world. Have a nice lunch at Rozelle Court or a picnic among the Henry Moore sculptures on the lawn. If time permits, walk over to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, where admission is always free. (Leave a donation at both places, though, because that's a nice thing to do.) Have dessert and coffee at Café Sebastienne. On Sunday, go to the City Market, which is one of the more vibrant spots in town. Pick up some Turkish Delight from the Middle Eastern store, or some barbecue from Winslow's. Go to the Arabia Steamboat Museum for a fascinating look at what life was like in the 1800s. Go home and reflect on what a cool place KC can be. --JC
