Almost anywhere on 39th Street west of Roanoke starts the weekend out right. The area is filled with so many great places-- for food, coffee, cigars, antiques, clothes, bars, books, and so on -- you may never make it to the increasingly sterile bastions of corporate capitalism, such as the Plaza and Westport. --PD
