Best Exhibition Space

Hard to believe the H&R Block ArtSpace was once a boring old 1960s office building. Sure, the boxy hull is still intact, but from there all resemblance departs. Inside there's the height of cool modernism -- hard lines, minimalist surfaces and textures. The interior is at once invitingly toothsome and distant and cold, making it an ideal space for viewing art. Work exhibited here is complemented by the décor -- there's nothing to detract, neither showy adornments nor seedy blemishes. Even from the outside, the building is a monument to aesthetic ideals. Each time we drive by, we're mesmerized by the rows of glowing fluorescent rectilinear windows and the droll oversize photo of cows.
