From Kiss' shooting balls of flame out of instruments to Iron Maiden's using fire in various and sundry ways to Britney Spears' punctuating her costume changes with colorful explosions, Sandstone's summer concert schedule provided the best thrills for those who believe a good concert should be an awe-inspiring spectacle. In addition to Red, White, and Boom's putting on its annual fireworks display, nearly all of the high-profile acts that visited Sandstone took advantage of the venue's massive stage, packing it with props and incendiary devices. Not even fans lounging on blankets back on the lawn had to strain their eyes to enjoy the visual stimulation.
