Missouri Rep's last-minute substitution of Inherit the Wind, Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence's fictionalized version of the Scopes monkey trial, was marred by a couple of feeble leads. But it got teenagers into the theater and made its point in spades -- it might have even helped push the final nail into the coffin of the reigning Kansas State of Board of Education.
