Drew Gooden was chosen MVP of the Great Alaskan Shootout in the first college basketball tournament he played in as a University of Kansas freshman. As a junior this past spring, he was a consensus All-American as he led the Jayhawks to the Final Four. In May, he was the fourth overall pick of the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA draft. When asked if he was going to visit Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, Gooden made KU's alumni everywhere blush: "I didn't even know Elvis was from Memphis. I thought he was from Tennessee." Geography isn't why Gooden will have his jersey hanging in the rafters of Allen Fieldhouse.
