Bob Werly Gets Trashed on KMBC Channel 9

Few retirees have the opportunity to spend their last day on the job getting ripped on the boss's dime, and even fewer do it on television. Yet that's precisely how Channel 9 veteran news reporter Bob Werly spent his final on-air hours this June. In a report ostensibly about the dangers of drinking and driving, the 66-year-old Werly spent a good chunk of the day depositing beer into his increasingly goofed-out face. Viewers who caught this piece of TV magic witnessed an obviously hammered Werly belch, then wave on more beers like a professional booze slut. One can only hope that whenever it's finally last call for Larry Moore, he'll carry on Werly's tradition.
