Everyone who has chilled with a group of destitute kids in Poland and then written a song about it stand up. Everybody who has started a record label and land-conservation group that releases Neutral Milk Hotel records and transforms a former Girl Scout campsite into a self-sustained village and nature preserve on the outskirts of Athens, Georgia, raise your right hand. Anybody who didn't just say "What the fuck?" to that self-sustained-village part, please step to the stage. I give you Elf Power. Yes, these patchouli punks recorded "Walking With the Beggar Boys" after hanging with some guttersnipes in Warsaw. Yes, the band's Orange Twin organization distributes albums by cult favorites such as Neutral Milk Hotel and uses some of the proceeds to support what amounts to 150 acres of hippie commune outside Athens. And yes, you should get your ass to the show.
