Best Waitress

Kathy Hahn, The Raphael Restaurant

Published on October 07, 2004

It probably can't hurt a waitress to be married to the restaurant's chef -- we imagine he's less likely to yell at her during stressful weekend nights. And in Kathy Hahn's case, being the spouse of the Raphael Restaurant's talented chef, Peter Hahn, gives her an insider's knowledge on the venue's constantly changing menu. "Kathy can discuss every ingredient in every dish, and customers love that knowledge," says restaurant manager Leonard Duff. "She's also extremely customer-oriented." A nine-year veteran of the hotel's dining room, Hahn works only nights, unless she's overseeing one of the employee wine tastings. "Kathy is extremely knowledgeable about wines and food," adds hotel manager Cynthia Savage. "She's truly our favorite waitress. When we hire a new server, we always say, 'Watch what Kathy does.'"
