Thanks to the Hilton sisters and the ascension of reality television stars to People magazine cover fodder, the latest celebrity trend is to be famous for, well, being famous. Ryan Cabrera hasn't quite reached sex-tape-worthy levels yet, but his profile was certainly raised after he dated Ashlee Simpson on her reality show. In fact, it's doubtful that his generic spiky hair -- last seen on everyone from Howie Day to Bart Simpson -- and even more pedestrian mall-folk tunes and nasal vocals would warrant a second listen from teeny-boppers without his MTV exposure. Then again, the Texas-born Cabrera at least has experience on his side. He was in a punk band in high school, and his stripped-back project Rubic's Groove did play with Cheap Trick and Ben Harper.
