Kanye West and the Beach Boys rarely end up in the same sentence, let alone the same iPod. In fact, Brian Wilson has openly dissed rap music, so he won't be happy to hear DJ Lushlife's latest venture. Free from Kanyewest sounds.com, West Sounds reconstructs ten of West's hottest tracks using ele-ments of Pet Sounds, including "Slow Jamz (Caroline No)" and "Diamonds (That's Not Me)." Projects like this tend to make record execs quiver and copyright lawyers salivate, so you can bet this mash-up will soon suffer the same cease-and-desist fate that silenced Danger Mouse's Grey Album. Surf's up.
