Maria MuldaurFriday, April 14, at Knuckleheads Saloon.By Mike WarrenPublished on April 13, 2006Maria Muldaur, of "Midnight at the Oasis" fame, has spent her career wrapping her inimitably sweet, conversationally soulful voice around every type of music she can find. After '60s tenures with the Even Dozen Jug Band and then the Butterfield Blues Band, she had her mid-'70s moment as a pop chanteuse. Since then, she has explored every corner of American music, even earning a W.C. Handy nomination for the acoustic-blues masterpiece Sweet Lovin' Ol' Soul. (Her duet with Taj Mahal on "Ain't What You Used To Have" is the best middle-aged goo-goo eyes tune since the days of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.) If you know her only for having sung the phrase send your camel to bed, it's time to slip into the rest of her tent.
