Just six months old and with its first show only a week under its belt, Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk has managed to create some of the most lovely, haunting music to hit the area in recent memory. The exciting quartet absorbs its influences while avoiding the copycat trap. Jameson Piedmonte's vocals take after Jón Birgisson of Sigur Rós, and Drew Gibson and Josh Riepe, schooled in Broken Social Scene, Appleseed Cast and My Bloody Valentine, drive the melody and beat. The band has an ambitious summer full of shows ahead and plans to record an EP before fall, but you can up your cool points by being among the first to catch the Baby Birds live at their first Lawrence show.
