Tactic
Published on February 08, 2007
In 2007, Ben Fuller and DJ Candlewax (who spin together as Tactic) aren't fucking around. As one of the few local acts playing at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, this spring, Tactic is on a mission to put Kansas City on the DJ map. Friday at The Point, Tactic performs with Timmy Ruckus, Bucho and Mr. Nuro. Across four turntables, Tactic plays hip-hop derivatives, hard house, grime and dub step, dance rock, and R&B (you know: party music) in a single set, bouncing among genres like a satellite radio station. Hip-hop or house heads whose tastes are stuck circa '97 would do well to check out Tactic for an update. These guys keep the party more interesting than just about anyone else in the neighborhood.
