After producing critically bear-hugged albums for Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown, Montreal musician Jace Lasek teamed up with wife and musical accomplice Olga Goreas to create the potent The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse. Flexing epic sprawl on intimate narrative arcs, the Besnard Lakes have created a fantastic slow-burner for the always provocative Jagjaguwar label.
