Before you pee on this page of the Pitch, read up. You know how your human always ditches you for happy hour? Here’s one you can drag her to. Every third Tuesday of the month, Lill’s on 17th (815 West 17th Street) teams up with the urban-pooch walkers at Citydog to throw a happy hour for dog lovers. They get homemade sangria; you get to sniff bitches’ butts and beg the restaurant owner for a handout. Trelle Osteen likes dogs so much, she named Lill’s after one. And she lets us eat on the outside patio with our owners whenever we want. On third Tuesdays, she stuffs her pockets with treats. We’re not talking your average Scooby snacks. Osteen bakes her own doggy cookies with sweet potatoes. She makes doggy tapas, too, with meat and carrot kebabs good enough for your old lady. Sounds better than a rawhide chew, huh? The party lasts from 6 to 8 p.m. The only downside: Word is, your vet is one of the regulars. Remember where he probed you last time you saw him? But it seems worth the risk. A professional photographer usually comes, too, and you could use some new MySpace pictures. And a night outside this lonely apartment. Now, go get your mama to make reservations through Citydog at 816-561-4504 or sociallysavvy@city dogwalking.com, or have her call Lill’s at 816-421-4441. Unless that yappy Chihuahua from down the street shows up, you won’t regret this.
Third Tuesday of every month, 6-8 p.m. Starts: April 17. Continues through Oct. 16, 2007
