Billy Joe Shaver

Â“Good Ol’ USA” by Billy Joe Shaver:

Sometimes, when outlaw country-musician Billy Joe Shaver gets drunk, he shoots people in the face. At least that's what he did to Billy Bryant Coker.

Onlookers at Papa Joe's Texas Saloon in Lorena, Texas, reported that Shaver shouted, "Where do you want it?" and "Tell me you're sorry!" at Coker, who took a round in the left cheek and lived to tell the tale. The man's music is just as rowdy. Shaver is legendary for his dirty Texan swagger and his even grimier lyrics about pussy and running from the cops, but his boyish voice belies the cowboy defiance latent in everything he sings. Don't be intimidated: Shaver seems to prefer singing for fans to shooting them.
