Track 2 from Tactic’s mix Money Shot, Volume 2:

Ben Fuller and DJ Candlewax (Brent Lippincott) are some go-getters. Together, as the DJ and remixing duo Tactic, they demonstrate a vehicle of pure talent with a motor that doesn't quit. The fine folks at the sushi restaurant Nara allow Fuller and Candlewax to play whatever they want every Wednesday night. That usually means a lot of funk and classic disco — a neat backdrop to a steadily growing after-dinner crowd. On the producto tip, Tactic's remix of Blaqstarr's "Superstarr" is garnering widespread attention, including a spin on London radio station KISS. In addition to Wednesday nights at Nara, the group holds down the Lava Room on Fridays and Fatso's in Lawrence on Saturdays. Later in September, they're bringing rising star Tittsworth back to spin. It's only a matter of time before someone snatches up the lads of Tactic and takes 'em on tour. That's fine, as long as they come back.

Tactic. Wednesdays at Nara, Fridays at the Lava Room, Saturdays at Fatso's.
