Did you know that comedian Rob Riggle was raised in Overland Park? And during the 2004-05 season of Saturday Night Live, when Riggle was a featured player, he made history as the first SNL cast member to be a military man? It’s a fact, Jack. As a major in the Marine Corps Reserve, Riggle saw combat in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. As a correspondent for Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Riggle visited Iraq last month, regaling troops while reporting under handles such as Operation Thundering Cameltoe. All of this is awesome, but we dig Riggle’s TV cameos the most, especially his Captain Jack on the “Booze Cruise” episode of The Office and his Buster-in-a-coma-loving politician on Arrested Development. Riggle’s manly mug has been visible at Stanford & Sons Comedy Club (1867 Village West Parkway) since Wednesday, and it’s where he’ll be tonight and Sunday. Call 913-400-7500 for reservations and information. Rob Riggle
