 Frank Warren's mailbox is regularly stuffed with secret, scandalous and straight-up hilarious confessions from people he's never met. "My friend's wife is dying from cancer; I wish it were my wife," reads one recent postcard. "I prank call my own mother," another says. "I equate nice thumbs with a nice penis," announces another. Warren hears about plenty of desperate psychoses, but he's no mail-order M.D. He's the creator of an offbeat community-art project that has ballooned into one of the most popular spots on the Internet. Since 2004, Postsecret.com has received nearly 200,000 submissions from strangers hoping to get something off their chests by casting it into the public domain. Warren has compiled some of the juiciest confessions in a new book, A Lifetime of Secrets.
