Every gal can relate to unwanted overtures from predatory dudes in a bar. It's just part of the terrain. But those advances must be especially irksome when you're a woman uninterested in men, period. Girl to Girl KC offers an alternative to the wearisome bar scene every third Friday at the Empire Room (334 East 31st Street). The event, which runs from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., is neither a singles club nor a couples' soirée. It's merely a social time for like-minded ladies in a safe, relaxed atmosphere. According to organizers, the event draws about 200 to 300 people each month and sometimes features entertainers (usually singer-songwriter types). A free raffle doles out two crisp $50 bills every month. There is a $5 admittance fee, but beyond that, it's all about being free. E-mail g2gkc@yahoo.com for more information.
