The Pitch Ultra Music DJ Contest

This March, the Ultra Music Festival, part of Miami's Winter Music Conference, celebrates 10 years of being one insanely huge two-day dance party. And this year, The Pitch celebrates its fourth year of being the one local newspaper that flies out one local DJ to perform at UMF. Now through Friday, January 25, The Pitch welcomes all you worthy Kansas City and Lawrence spinners to submit entries to The Pitch Ultra Music DJ Contest. Each entry should consist of an original mix that reflects what you sound like at your most super-fuckin'-bang­in'-ass fantastic: When you're looking good, playing all the right records and driving the crowd wild. From these mixes, we will pick five finalists to spin one 30-minute set each at NV on the weekend of February 22. The finalists will be announced in the February 7 and 14 issues of The Pitch, and their mixes will be posted at Pitch.com. On the night of the showdown, a panel of judges will determine the winner and send him or her to Miami.
