Tales of Beatrix Potter—Jemima Puddle-duck & The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit

Published on January 16, 2008 at 2:01am

Giant puppets dance and act in narrated ballets to these two beloved Beatrix Potter stories with music by William Walton. This full-scale theatrical production from New York’s award-winning Hudson Vagabond Puppets uses costumes and larger-than-life-size rod puppets up to 8 feet tall! The Tale of Jemima Puddle-duck is about an absent-minded duck, Jemima, who takes flight on a fine spring day in search of a place to lay her eggs. Jemima meets a handsome foxy-whiskered gentleman who invites her to lay eggs in his shed. One day he suggests that they should have dinner together. Little does she know that duck soup is on the menu! An honest collie and two rowdy foxhound puppies help save the day. In The Story of A Fierce Bad Rabbit, the Fierce Bad Rabbit and the Nice Gentle Rabbit argue over the ownership of a carrot. He takes the carrot with out even saying please! After a brief skirmish with a Hunter, the Fierce Bad Rabbit lives to regret his bad manners. Suggested for Grades Pre K-3.
