In October, 26-year-old Jack Polson of Overland Park was diagnosed with embryonal sarcoma of the liver, an extremely rare and painful cancer. Polson began aggressive chemotherapy at KU Medical Center in January. Now his friends and family invite the community to help. Lend a hand and both feet tonight and Jig for Jack at The Gaf Pub & Grille (7122 Wornall Road.)It's $10 to get in, and the bar will have donation buckets, a raffle and a silent auction to help raise money to meet Polson's medical expenses as he continues treatment and prepares for surgery. Doors open at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets cost $2 apiece or $10 for 10. Commemorative T-shirts cost $10. For more information, or to donate, call 847-878-3687 or e-mail jacks.fight@gmail.com.
