If you're getting bored with your enforced sedentary lifestyle this winter, the Kansas City Whitewater Club can help prep you for rugged outdoor adventures in the spring — such as maneuvering your kayak through the white-water torrent of the Colorado River. Plus, the club holds its training simulations in a swimming pool — just like the astronauts! Specifically, the club trains at the Aquatic Center at Park Hill High School (7701 Northwest Barry Road, 816-359-4110) from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sundays. Sessions cost $7. For more information, see Kansas City Whitewater Club.
