Control Freeks
Published on March 06, 2008
From where the Control Freeks are sitting, the DJ scene in Kansas City ain't looking too bad. Freek Xan Lucero says that all the club nights he attends or plays seem to be successful. As a DJ duo, the Control Freeks have enjoyed a growing reputation since Lucero and his partner, Atom Bryce, won The Pitch's Ultra Music Contest back in 2006. For evidence, look no further than their wildly successful dance night at Glow every second and fourth Saturday, where they bang out a barrage of house-music forms. If you're wondering how the Control Freeks got a prized Saturday night gig there over the rest of the fine DJs who spin regularly at Glow, just show up Saturday around peak hour. It's like night of the living club kids in there.
