Ready for Draft Day?

Let’s say you’re the type to wear your Chiefs colors to dinner on the Plaza. Let’s presume you’d sacrifice your firstborn before agreeing to wash that signed Joe Montana jersey. It’s fair, then, to assume that said child will bear the name Herm, no matter how cute she is. If that’s you, then no doubt you ought to be at the third-annual Kansas City Chiefs Draft Day Party. For $14 in advance or $18 at the door, you get to watch the televised NFL draft in the company of KC Wolf, cheerleaders, Mitch “Voice of the Chiefs” Holthus and current and former players. There’s no buffet this year — unless you shell out $850 for a VIP table — but $2 will get you a hot dog, and Bud products are on special from noon to 1 p.m. The four-hour event, held at the Chiefs practice facility at Truman Sports Complex (Interstate 70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff), begins at noon.
