As a kid, did you ever dream about getting locked inside the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (4525 Oak, 816-751-1278) and having crazy adventures late at night? Well, forget it, Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler this is real life, and the museum has security guards and motion detectors. Once you put aside your juvenile fantasies about running away, theres a better by which we mean legal way to become acquainted with Kansas Citys world-class art museum: Nelson-
Atkins NOW! tours, guided by a team of trained volunteers, beginning at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and at 2:15 p.m. Sunday. Covering the entire museum, from the original 1933 structure through the new Bloch Building, the tours require no reservation. Plus, if youd like to take volunteer training to become a guide, contact Susan Spencer at sspencer@nels on-atkins.org.
