So you've decided to get a concealed-carry permit. Good for you! Hey, cowboy, hold on — don't stuff your gun down the front of your pants. Didn't your mother teach you any better than that? A good holster and an extremely stiff belt are generally the way to go, but you can pick up all of the relevant information, as well as the specifics of Missouri law, at an all-day conceal-and-carry class from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bass Pro Shops in Independence (18001 Bass Pro Drive, at East 37th Street and Adams). The $150 course includes a lecture, a presentation and target firing, and attendees get a $20 gift certificate for the store. Enroll at equalforce.org or call 913-492-7264.
