Is your little one always stealing the hairspray from the bathroom cabinet, shellacking his hair into a stiff helmet and speaking in a quasi-authoritative voice about arson? Don't worry! Though it could be a sign of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, he's probably just practicing for Fox 4's 2008 Mini Anchor Contest.Kids ages 7 to 14 can try out today at 10 a.m. in the home-theater department at Nebraska Furniture Mart (1601 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas, 913-288-6200). After deciding whether to audition as an anchor or a meteorologist, each contestant will be asked to read from a script. The Fox 4 morning team will choose up to six contestants to appear on the 6 to 9 a.m. Fox 4 Morning News, where they will present the day's news or weather. They can also vie to permanently replace anchor Don Harmon! Just kidding. Winners will be notified on Wednesday, August 13.
