At least one local team stands to benefit from the perilous plight of the Kansas City Chiefs: the Kansas City Wizards. With the Chiefs' tails all but tucked for the remainder of a forlorn season, the Wizards stand to pick up some converts as playoff season looms. Plenty of spots are still up for grabs, but if our hometown soccer squad wants to extend its season, the team will have to rally for victories (or at least ties) in its final two games. A 7 p.m. matchup with the San Jose Earthquakes at CommunityAmerica Ballpark (1800 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, 913-328-2255) marks the Wizards' final home game of the regular season.
