While other cities get Urban Death or the splatter-rama Evil Dead musical, this town has too often turned to played-out bullshit like The Rocky Horror Show for its risqué Halloween fun. We can make up for it at 9 tonight, just two weeks too late, when Repo! The Genetic Opera makes its sordid way to the Glenwood Arts (9575 Metcalf in Overland Park, 913-642-4404) for a one-night-only, scream-and-sing-along screening. Repo is a sexy, bloody, curl-your-toes glam nightmare about organ-transplant junkies. Expect squishy organs, well-shined leather, Bettie Page dos, Joan Jett and Paris Hilton. Director Darren Bousman (the Saw II-IV maestro, who was born and raised in Overland Park) and creator and star Terrance Zdunich will be on hand tonight to help mop up. Tickets cost $12; get 'em early.
