November skies may drop frosty chills upon us, but tonight's hotter-than-hot dance performance is certain to bring some heat to town. We're talking about Compañia Flamenco José Porcel, Spain's premier dance company. Led by José Porcel — former principal with the National Ballet of Spain and one smokin' bailarín — Compañia Flamenco is an evocative, sensual blend of traditional and modern flamenco, with red-hot footwork, stunning costumes, complex choreography and brilliant musicianship (courtesy of an ensemble of professional guitarists and vocalists). Tonight's program at the Folly Theater (300 West 12th Street) showcases both group performances and impassioned solo efforts, with more than one appearance by Porcel himself. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, see harriman-jewell.org/events/flamenco.htm or call 816-415-5025.
