"Part of the magic of Create Your Own Reality is that you don't have to be an artist or even artistic. You just have to have the intention to create," says Darcy Bloss, the mind behind tonight's free event at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art (4420 Warwick, 816-753-5784). Bloss sees tonight as an opportunity to bring creative people together without the rules, labels or expectations that can clog artistic pipes. She hosted the first CYOR in her house last March and followed it up with events in other people's homes. The first public group met at the Kemper in October. Plans to meet quarterly at the museum are now in the works. The adult-oriented program runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and includes drinks and light snacks. Attendees can bring their own projects or supplies; some materials will be available. The Kemper's only request: no paints, clay or power tools. Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art
