Pi Gallery owner Jody Wilkins and Late Show Gallery owner Tom Deatherage honored their friend, the late artist Mott-Ly, with a benefit exhibition April 24 for the Kansas City Academy, a private college-prep school in Waldo. Tonight, the Pi Gallery (419 East 18th Street, 816-210-6534) hosts the sixth-annual exhibit of works by kids from that school. "It's not just visual art," Wilkins says. "There's the music component, which is always really, really good, and a poetry reading, which is pretty priceless." The opening reception is from 6 to 9 p.m., with performances throughout the evening.
