The Kansas City Wizards square off against Chivas USA tonight at CommunityAmerica Ballpark (1800 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas). Chivas USA is not owned by a liquor concern. Rather, it's a sister team to Club Deportivo Guadalajara of the Mexican League. Club Deportivo Guadalajara is known commonly as Chivas, or Goats. In its first season of MLS play, Chivas USA used only Mexican players. That was a disaster, though it made some sense from a marketing perspective (the team shares Los Angeles with the Galaxy). Today's Goats are primarily U.S.-born and coached by a Serbian — Preki, the Wizards' all-time leading scorer. Tonight's game begins at 7:30. Warning: It's "Dog's Night," so there will be a lot of four-legged fútbol fans in the audience. Call 913-387-3400 for tickets or watch the Fox Soccer Channel.
