Shopping can be exhausting, but during the summer, rewards sometimes await in the form of free outdoor concerts. Two Northland shopping plazas provide musical entertainment tonight (and every Thursday) throughout the summer. From 7 to 9 p.m., Zona Rosa (Interstate 29 and Barry Road, 816-587-8180) offers Jazz on the Square. Susie Thorne is tonight's performer, and the event includes food samples from Zona Rosa retailers and drawings for gift certificates. For an extended lineup, see zonarosa.com. Not far away at Tuileries Plaza (I-29 and Northwest 64th Street), catch Concerts in the Courtyard from 7 to 9 p.m. Tonight's band is Project Chameleon, and retailers there offer giveaways, too. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, but no coolers are permitted. See tuileriesplaza.com.
Thursdays, 7-9 p.m. Starts: June 25. Continues through Sept. 24, 2009
