The effort that Kate McKay has poured into her second-annual fashion show is pretty ambitious. McKay, a junior at the Pembroke Hill School, sewed 25 original designs that she'll send down the runway at the Uptown Theater (3700 Broadway). Her models, fellow Pembroke students, will also show off earthy jewelry by local designer Laura Sterchi. Attendees can bid on clothing and jewelry from the show in a silent auction. As if this weren't impressive enough, McKay is donating all of the proceeds to Bridging the Gap, a Kansas City environmental nonprofit. A pre-show reception starts at 6 p.m., and the fashion show starts at 7. Tickets are $25 in advance or $28 at the door; go to bridgingthegap.org or call 816-561-1087, ext. 125.
