Those who think remixes are as compelling as originals can find proof in the pudding on Norrit's new Feel the Remix EP. The Lawrence-based DJ and producer makes over his own "Feel the Rhythm" cut (originally from The Rhythm EP) with gurgling bass lines and phased-out samples, essentially creating a new track while retaining its original intent: maximum dance-floor hotness. Norrit, who DJs under the alias Iggy Baby, also enlists Dubbel Dutch (Austin, Texas) and White Girl Lust (San Francisco) to remix the song, yielding two more grimy versions that go toe-to-toe with his. The EP is rounded out with two new interpretations of "Move," Norrit's calling-card club banger featuring Kansas City rapper and producer Royce Diamond. Chicago's Phosho ups the BPMs and conjures up unexpected new melodies, while Pittsburgh's B. Rich gives the track the full house-music treatment. The Think 2wice crew is still best when experienced in the live setting, but snatch this one up if you wanna bring the party back to your place.
