Besides offering hand-tossed, stone-fired pizzas from four metro locations, Spin Neapolitan Pizza sponsors free weekly community bike rides. The expert-led spins originate from the restaurant's outposts in Overland Park (6541 West 119th Street, 913-451-7746), Olathe (14230 West 119th Street), Lee's Summit (1808 D Northwest Chipman Road, 816-246-7746) and the Plaza (4950 Main, 816-561-7746) on different days of the week. Today's 11.5-mile ride, organized and led by cyclist J.P. Shores, is in midtown. Beginning at 4950 Main, the route goes past Loose Park, through Mission Hills, south to Gregory, north on Oak to 40th Street and back down to Broadway and through the Plaza. Back at Spin, cyclists get a 10 percent food discount after the ride. See spinpizza.com or call locations for more information.
