Back in the days of Sansabelt uniforms, the Royals used to play the American League's glamour teams — the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox — 10 or 11 times a season. Now that the AL is a three-division affair, the East Coast clubs visit the fountains less frequently. The Red Sox make their lone KC appearance in a series that begins tonight at 7:10 at Kauffman Stadium (Interstate 70 and the Blue Ridge Cutoff, 816-921-8000). Boston is trying to make the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years — expect Red Sox Nation to be out in force. Brokers have tickets for as little as $9.
