To give you a taste of what you'll get when Spence and the Unknown Souldier team up for the first time this Friday night at the Eighth Street Taproom, the two DJs collaborated on a mix for you.

As Cyrus Dayani (the Unknown Souldier himself) put it on the event's Facebook page:

We plan on tearing it up with quality mash-ups and the funkiest selection in town. We look forward to seeing all ya'll this Friday so we'll have grounds to make this a regular gig...To boost the hype, we've recorded a 30 minute mix that embodies the vibe we're going for: you know, funk, soul, disco, hip hop, and some proper breakbeats.

I hear some De La Soul, James Brown, and -- I swear to God -- just enough of Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five's "Scorpio" to make me lose my shit. These two gents are the cream of the DJ crop when it comes to funk, soul, and hip hop, and this promises to rock your ass down in the depths of the Taproom basement.
