Remember that really artsy Saturn commercial set to the Walkmen's song, circa 2003? Or when the band performed on an episode of The O.C. (RIP)? Certainly, you remember when they rivaled the Strokes in terms of high-quality retro shtick throughout the mid-aughts. Well, Saturn, The O.C. and the Strokes may all have fallen by the wayside, but the Walkmen have carried on, churning out noisy ragers that are as timeless and chic as a black leather jacket.
On September 30, the indie rockers perform at Standard Style's fall fashion show. In addition to the runway show, this will be a rooftop concert on the Plaza. (What? We can't believe it, either. Weird.) Pop some bottles with models, all set to a sleek soundtrack provided live by the upstate New Yorkers.
You can buy your tickets here. At $40, the price is steep, but the ticket sneaks up to $50 if you wait until after the Thursday. If you miss the Walkmen this time around, the band will be at the Bottleneck October 19 (with Japandroids), in support of new album Lisbon.
