Kansans, your killing fields will be Ted Nugent free for at least two years. The Motor City Madman is banned from hunting in the Sunflower State -- where Uncle Ted has bowhunted for several years -- due to a conviction in liberal California for illegally hunting deer.
The Wichita Eagle reports that Uncle Ted's conviction for using bait to hunt blacktail deer -- a big no-no -- and subsequent ban until June 2012 extends to Kansas because the states are part of a wildlife enforcement compact (he may also be in trouble for pheasant hunting in South Dakota). Nugent is denying breaking any game laws, calling himself "Mother Teresa with a bow and arrow."
Nugent told West Virginia Outdoors:
Nugent claims he was the victim of a "witch hunt" and his conviction politically motivated.
"I Ted Nugent do NOT break game laws. I am Mother Teresa with a bow and arrow."
"They did a witch-hunt and a during a Gestapo, jack-booted thug raid based on the allegation that my forked horn buck was a spike as spurred on by phone calls from the 'Ted Haters."The Nugent ban does not extend to Nugent's concerts, so you can still see him perform the touching love song, "Wang Dang Sweet Pootang," live and in-person.
