Independence police believe a woman was abducted from an Independence QuikTrip Tuesday night.

Around 10 p.m., several witnesses reported seeing a white or Hispanic male force himself into the car of a white woman, believed to be in her twenties, as she was trying to leave the parking lot of the convenience store in the 2300 block of South Lee's Summit Road.

Witnesses said once the man was in the car, he assaulted the woman, who appeared to be in distress. The woman's car is said to be a green, mid-'90s Ford Crown Victoria (or a similar model vehicle).

Witnesses told police that a second suspect was driving a red Ford or

Chevy pickup truck with a camper shell. The truck also has a white

stripe down the center of it. The vehicles appeared to leave the lot

together, heading southbound on Lee's Summit Road and last seen heading

west at a high rate of speed on Interstate 70 toward Kansas City,

Missouri.

The woman is described as having a slim build and light-colored hair. She was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The woman's name is still unknown at this time.

The suspects are described as white or Hispanic men with numerous tattoos.

Police have released several photos taken from surveillance cameras of her and one of the suspects (see below).

If you have information about this possible abduction, call 911, the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 or Independence police at 816-325-7852.
