Original Story (January 17): An early morning homicide has Kansas City police searching for a suspected killer. Around 1 a.m., police were near 16th and Holmes to handle a traffic problem at a private party when officers heard gunshots coming from about a block west.
When officers reached the scene, they found an adult male dead in the parking lot. Police say the shooting stemmed from a disturbance at the private party. The suspected shooter is described as a black male with braids. He was seen leaving the scene in a dark-colored, newer model Jeep Liberty or Patriot.
At last word, police were still working on confirming the victim's identity.

UPDATE: Witnesses told police that a confrontation involving four black males led to the shooting that killed Orlando Smith. The suspects fled the scene in a newer-model black
