Apocalyptic, homophobic hatemonger Lou Engle deserves the "Pink Brick" award. The honor -- it's not one really -- is handed out every year during the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration "to recognize groups and individuals who've run afoul of the community or pushed for anti-gay measures."
Oh, man. If that doesn't define Engle.
Last year, the Kansas City-based preacher incited hostilities against gays in Uganda, appearing at a prayer rally that amounted to an endorsement of an
anti-homosexuality bill there, a bill that would make "aggravated" homosexuality punishable by death. Engle hasn't done much to clarify his position.
According to The Bay Area Reporter, Engle's competition includes National Organization for Marriage chairwoman Maggie
Gallagher and anti-gay activist
Rekers, who reportedly used a male prostitute as a travel buddy. Sweet Lou has this won -- easy.
