Earlier this week, a Wyandotte County jury convicted Aaron Clay of first-degree murder in the killing of Javier Reynoza.

Clay, 31, was also found guilty of attempted aggravated robbery and

criminal possession of a firearm. His sentencing is scheduled for May

27.

Reynoza, 37, was shot to death on January 2, 2010. In February 2010, Clay, Jessica Jones (who was later shot and killed by Kansas City police) and another man were stopped by Kansas City police. Clay and Earl West were both charged with first-degree murder in Reynoza's death.

At the time, authorities also wanted to question a woman named Annicka Martinez, but her body was found in a burning car in Lafayette County, Missouri, on January 11, 2010.
