Itching to get your hands on some new vinyl? Head out to Waldo on Sunday, May 15, to thumb through albums and singles at the Pop-Up Record Store (2011, at 432 East 73rd Terrace) from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (or whenever everything sells).

The Pop-Up Record Store will have more than 8,000 clean and collectible records. The store boasts "below Internet prices" and will price bargain discs as low as $3. The store's event was put together by two long-time local collectors and a "vinyl hound" from Chicago, Illinois.

Disc genres to be sold include new wave/punk/post-punk, bootlegs, soul/funk/disco, blues, 1960s garage and psychedelic, folk-rock, Americana, white label promos, singer-songwriter, colored wax, top-40 hits, country and western, reggae/ska, world, Latin, and rockabilly. (No classical or opera, though.)
