Well, this will just break your heart. Local filmmaker Chistopher Good's new video for the Secret Cities song "Always Friends" has been released, and it's the cutest and saddest damn thing you'll see today.

The split-screen video -- Good's first attempt in the medium -- tells the story of a geeky friend who longs for his equally nerdy gal pal who is dating a skeezy-looking guy with a basketball. Though she enjoys battling him in role-playing games, she doesn't like like him. Isn't that always the way?

Even after the guy tries to win her over with a precious personalized Dungeons & Dragons-type card that he drew for her, she rejects his ass over their imaginary board-game fiefdom.

Strangely, Good says that one of the most difficult things about shooting the video was finding a role-playing game to use while filming. He's not a fan of such games, he explains (sure, Christopher, we believe you), and after putting requests for games out on Facebook, he says, he came up empty. "No one said a word, which suggested to me that no one wanted to out themselves on Facebook as role-playing game fans." Eventually a friend came forward with HeroQuest, but Good says he has no idea if the game is considered a "legitimate RPG by the connoisseurs."

The gods had more in store for the video's forlorn young man than loneliness. The fate he meets at the end of the

video is truly dismal. Here, Good hems and haws in an effort to explain the artistic reasons for the comically tragic ending, before finally admitting that it was driven mostly by wanting to make his buddies in the video look ridiculous. "I wanted to shoot my friends dressed up as role-playing game characters," he says with a devious chuckle.

It's so awesome, though. That's all the artistic reasoning he needs.
